Hillcrest Baptist Church was founded in July 1952 in the Hillcrest Heights area of Prince George’s County, Maryland.  The members of Hillcrest Baptist Church represent a body of believers in complete submission to the Lord’s leadership, while sustaining the church financially.

Qualifications

Hillcrest Baptist Church is seeking a full-time, ordained Baptist minister called to be the spiritual leader of this branch of Zion. A degree from an accredited theological seminary or school of divinity is preferred. The applicant should have experience as a pastor of a comparable-sized congregation; however, an applicant without experience as Pastor may be considered if he has had significant training and responsibilities while serving as an Associate or Assistant Pastor.

The applicant should be a man who will follow Christ in a life of discipleship, using his gifts given by the Holy Spirit to lead the church in carrying out the Great Commission for expanding the kingdom of God. He should be anointed of God, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and exemplify Christ-like characteristics before all people and in church endeavors. In his personal life, his character should be beyond reproach.

The applicant must be a gifted preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ who exhibits proficiency in preparing and delivering sermons that demonstrate a firm comprehension of the Holy Bible and Baptist Polity. The applicant must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and adherence to the principles of the Articles of Faith as well as a passion for Bible-based teaching, evangelism, and counseling. The applicant should possess the ability to articulate a vision for the church that emphasizes spiritual growth and development. He should also have the ability to plan, organize, and implement strategies that will ensure continued success at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

The applicant should be committed to Christian education and have a zeal for missions and evangelism. The applicant should exhibit an appreciation for the traditional and conventional styles of worship and musical presentation. The applicant should have administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills that will nurture and enhance the spiritual growth of the members. The applicant must be dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the Church in harmony with God’s Holy Word.

Compensation

Salary and benefits are open for negotiation, based upon qualifications and experience.
